About John
John is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the University of Wisconsin, Madison, School of
Journalism and Mass Communication. His academic interests are in mass communication
law and policy, with an emphasis on the intersection between information technology policy (such as copyright and broadcast/network rules) and social
theory.
John grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where he went to Park Center Senior High. After getting his bachelors from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, he married his high-school sweetheart, Lyra.
In his free time, John likes to work with computers, drive, play
violin (in the Madison Community Orchestra), or to enjoy time with Lyra and Oscar.
